Translation expert, teacher and researcher
Before retiring to Luxembourg in October 2022, I was Professor of Translation Studies, Director of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (now the Institute of Multilingual Communication) and Deputy Dean of the School of Applied Linguistics at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur, Switzerland. I was also Vice-President of CIUTI and represented my institute in the EMT network.
I still publish and present regularly on translators, translation and the language industry. My research and publications range widely, covering language industry studies, workplace research, cognitive translation studies, translator education and teacher development.
Beyond work
Trained by the excellent Josh Kramer of Destination Yoga, I recently qualified as a yoga teacher registered with the Yoga Alliance.
